• Ascent to the minaret of the Khan's mosque (from May to October). Monument to the Tatar cult architecture. It also has the name "Kasim Khan Mosque." According to legend, the mosque was built by the first ruler of the Kasimov Khanate, Tsarevich Kasim in the 15th century, according to other sources - the khan Shah-Ali, that is, in the middle of the 16th century. From the ancient building, only a stone minaret has been preserved. The building of a brick mosque was demolished in 1702 by order of Peter I, who, according to legend, while sailing along the Oka River, took the mosque to be a church and crossed to it.
Under Catherine II, the mosque was restored on the same foundation. At the end of the 18th century, a stone one-story mosque with a four-pitched roof was built, and at the beginning of the 19th century the building was built up with a second floor made of bricks, the interior was finished with marble. In this form, the Khan's mosque has survived to this day. Since 1938, the museum of local lore was located in the building of the mosque. In November 2013, by decision of the Arbitration Court of the Ryazan Region, the mosque was transferred to the possession of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in the European part of Russia. Today the minaret of the mosque is open for tourists. From the height of the minaret offers a beautiful view of the city.
• Inspection of the teki Shah Ali Khan. Monument of federal significance. Monument of medieval Tatar architecture, which was erected in the XVI century. It is a small structure of a simple rectangular shape with a low white stone arch composed of limestone blocks. Inside the tomb (tekiye) is divided by a transverse wall into two rooms: one large, in which are the graves of Shah Ali Khan, his wife and several relatives, and another, a small, former chapel, where they read the Koran to commemorate the persons buried here. Here, according to legend, the Kazan queen - Syuyumbike, who was forcibly married to Shah Ali Khan, was buried.
• Visit to a new functioning mosque. Conversation with the chairman of the Tatar community.
• Lunch in a Tatar restaurant with a master class on cooking the favorite delicacies of the Kasimov Tatars - “lyavash”. You will have lunch in the best Tatar traditions. (Option 1. Chicken noodle soup, vegetable salad, Tatar azu, census, lavash, kosh tele, bread, herb tea; Option 2. Shulpa, YaZ salad, vak byalesh, lavash, kosh tele, bread, tea on herbs).
